Webinar: Unlocking the potential of the UK broadcast market

Free webinar for international broadcasters, content and rights owners

MediaPaedia Broadcast, the channel operations company that helps broadcasters launch, run and monetise their TV channels effectively, has announced they are hosting a free webinar about the opportunities available to US broadcasters in the UK.

Taking place on 12th May at 12.00 EDT, 09.00 PDT, the webinar Unlocking the potential of the UK broadcast market explores why US broadcasters, channels and content rights owners should consider the UK as a natural expansion destination.

Chris Parson, Chief Executive of MediaPaedia Broadcast, says: “Household names such as Discovery, CNN and National Geographic have been broadcasting for many years in the UK. Recently, more niche US broadcasters, including Smithsonian have jumped across the pond. We successfully launched Court TV on Sky, Freeview and Freesat in the UK and they have just had their biggest viewing day since inception. The UK has a very well-established broadcast market and was one of the first countries to go to a fully digital broadcast protocol. It presents an ideal expansion opportunity for US broadcasters and rights holders to reach a new, affluent English-speaking market.”

The interactive online event is aimed at educating US and other international broadcasters on the opportunities the UK market represents and demonstrating that it is not as complex as one might think - just different. It will step through Court TV’s journey expanding into the UK, before covering all aspects of the UK broadcast market, from platforms and distribution of traditional linear content to OTT, VOD and digital opportunities, as well as the advertising, regulatory and compliance issues.

Moderated by Andrea Winn, owner of Sunstream Media, the event features Kerry G. Oslund, VP Strategy & Business Development, The E.W Scripps Company as a case study of the Court TV launch with leading broadcast specialists: Ed Hall, Managing Partner, Expert Media Partners; Alan Musa, Commercial Media Consultant; Mike Gull, Sales & Marketing Director, Media 15 as well as Chris Parsons from MediaPaedia Broadcast.
