Client Profile: Talking Pictures TV

TPTV was one of the first clients we had at MPB, helping them launch four years ago. MPB essentially acts as the operations department for the channel and over the past four years we have helped them grow from a small, start-up channel, to the largest independent channel in the UK, with over 2.5 million viewers a week. When the channel launched it was just on Sky and now they are on Virgin, Freesat and Freeview and are looking into OTT solutions and launching an SVOD app, all with the support of the MPB team. MPB helped managed the launch, set up the channel with their playout providers, manage those ongoing relationships and ensure that everything runs smoothly.

MPB provides end-to-end channel management services for the channel, including scheduling, content management, subtitling management, social media support, compliance editing and promo creation. We work closely with the owners, to put together one of the most popular channels in the UK and we are incredibly proud to have been involved in such a great success story. By outsourcing the operations to MPB, the TPTV management is able to concentrate on the overall shape of the channel and its content, in the knowledge that the channel operations are in safe hands. With around 50-60 new titles a month being processed by MPB, multiple promos created and hundreds of social media posts and responses managed, they keep us busy, and we enjoy a great working relationship.
